Highway rest area near me1/23/2024 ![]() ![]() There was no way to meet anyone, or if there was, it felt forced, somehow. My college town and my hometown were surrounded by thick lines of trees and post-industrial abandoned factories. Sometimes men go to rest areas because there’s nowhere else to go. I wasn’t nervous, I wasn’t thinking - it seemed like where I should be. Later, on the long drives between college in Massachusetts and home in Pennsylvania, I’d pull over whenever I found a rest stop. When I was 21, on the day I got my first car, I drove to a little parking lot off the highway near where I lived: the gravity of memory – of that day when I was 15 - drew me there. And this freedom is open to everyone, even those comfortable with their sexuality. There is an appeal not just to having sex, but to having anonymous sex - not because you want to hide your identity from the other person surely the other men recognized George Michael - but to feeling your own identity left behind. Larry Craig and pop star George Michael were both discovered having sex at them. Is it any wonder why people who feel the weight of their identities have been caught having sex at rest areas? Sen. Sex at the rest area, instead, abolishes identity there’s a sort of freedom there to not be anything – instead, men just meet other men there men who want the sam. They’re for gay men who want to have gay sex. For the man who is unsure of his sexuality, or unsure of how to tell others about it, for the man who has a family but feels new desires (or old, hidden ones) unfolding inside of him, the website and the phone apps are just too certain of themselves. The new ways that men meet - endlessly staring into phones, searching on hookup apps like Grindr or sites like Manhunt - haven’t changed the fact that we’re still having sex at rest areas, because they offer something different. This has been going on for a long, long time. Have you ever stopped at a rest area and found it completely empty? There’s always one man there, in his car, waiting to meet someone new. In the winter, men trudge through snow to be with each other, in the summer, men leave the woods with ticks clinging to their legs. I’m one of those men, I’ve done it a hundred times we go into the woods or a truck with tinted windows, in a stall under cold light. If you’ve ever pulled over to a rest area, you’ve been near men having sex. Time started again and I ran out of the bathroom. We would have stayed there forever, but another man came in and saw what was happening and scowled. ![]() I was electrified, but held to that spot he shook himself at me and I couldn’t move. He was tall and homely, and holding himself. At the urinal, there was a man next to me. On the way to Maine with my mom and stepfather, we pulled off the highway and into a rest area. I was 15 the first time I found out that men have sex in public. ![]()

Do squirrels hibernate in uk1/23/2024 ![]() ![]() The second time is at the beginning of autumn. This is the time when the little ones are ready to leave home and the mother teaches their young how to build nests. Because of this, two nest-building periods can be noticed throughout the year, the first, in June or July. The young ones are ready to leave the family nest between their tenth or twelfth week. When spring arrives, the mothers spend most of their time taking care of their babies. What time of year do squirrels build nests? However, this type of squirrel isn’t native to the UK. Also, they may live in parks and golf courses where they also make tunnels and nests underground. They do so in loose soil, such can be found in pastures and fields.

Deer vs elk antlers for dogs1/23/2024 ![]() ![]() Some benefits of split elk antlers include: Because their marrows are exposed, they offer a slightly different experience compared to whole antlers. ![]() Split elk antlers are a type of elk antlers, and as their suggests, they are whole elk antlers that are divided or sawed down at the middle to expose the marrow. If you’re unsure which one your dog will like, it might be worth trying both to see which they enjoy more. Some dogs might prefer the taste of deer antlers to elk antlers. If your dog has specific nutritional requirements, elk antlers might be a better choice. I have messed more with Power Baser and God Armor sets (both red and black), than anything else in my collection over the past two years. MakeToys Thunder Erebus Third Party Transformers UNBOXING Sep 18, 2017. Big, imposing, chunky, and strikes a perfect balance between the animated Ginrai character from Masterforce and the chunky lovable PMOP from the G1 toy box art and the 80’s Marvel comics. Discussion in Transformers 3rd Party Discussion started by Kuma Style, Mar 23, 2022. Has heft not hollow feeling unlike current Hasbro legends and deluxe toys. The Powermaster/Godmaster figure is really tiny, about the size of my thumb. Once you master that part of it, he’s absolutely terrific. MakeToys Divine Armor for MTCD-03SP Thunder Erebus. After feedback from you guys that Thunder Erebus (3rd party Nucleon Powermaster Optimus Prime) is more toylike than fragile, I went ahead and got it. There are videos showing some of them but I have discovered a trick or two on my own that assists with closing up the side panels without having to force them. I feel like Power Baser has a great fun factor, there is just a little finesse and a few tricks needed for the cab-trailer combination. I had both, I got rid of Thunder Manus but I still mess with Power Baser all the time. So while you will get different answers from different people, I would recommend Power Baser over Thunder Manus without hesitation or qualification. MakeToys Divine Armor for MTCD-03SP Thunder Erebus Just thought I'd mention it here since a lot of Erebus fans were probably interested in getting one. It made me feel like the whole set was a Legends PM Prime, and I’m just not into that. But the core Prime on this thing is the size of a retail Legends figure. MakeToys Thunder Erebus Third Party Transformers Review JobbytheHong 522K subscribers 1.3M views 5 years ago Get this figure at the BigBadToyStore Here's. Ideally I would have liked the cab to be Striker Manus sized or at the very least, at that pricepoint, I was ok with the inner robot being the size of a small deluxe mainline figure. I have a few Legends scale figures but I am by no means a Legends collector. I just found the core and cab robot to be too small and delicate to have much fun with it. The biggest thing that turned me off of Thunder Manus, however, was the size. I actually broke one of those blue gauntlets and had to replace it for exactly that reason. And getting the blue arms for the Divine Armor set on and off was an absolute bear due to how tight the connection is. And in the condition MT is in right now, getting replacement parts is unlikely. Nothing involving the cab combination, but some tabs in the trailer wheel assemblies don’t hold very well and I had an ankle socket straight up crack because the ankle swivel is too tight. Thunder Manus is easier to transform but has some fiddly bits and problem areas. I want one of each of these figures (Takara, Hasbro and one or two third party), for nucleon, ultimate bomber prime and Fire-Spark Ginrai. I have messed more with Power Baser and God Armor sets (both red and black), than anything else in my collection over the past two years. Once you master that part of it, he’s absolutely terrific. Why would anyone think it was a Black Divine Shooter? Human error.Click to expand.I had both, I got rid of Thunder Manus but I still mess with Power Baser all the time. ![]() "Divine Armor" in my head translated to "That Maketoys Godbomber!" Didn't think to look at the details cause it was TFSource, I wanted armor (either this or a Black Divine Shooter would be fine), so I bought it. I have Thunder Erebus and Divine Shooter, so I've been wanting color matched armor for awhile. ![]()

Kyuukyoku choujin r manga1/22/2024 ![]() ![]() ![]() The gang also camps outside that one time, it looked fun. And the animation and art style really provides, the backgrounds are superbly drawn, it's 1 hour and 13 minutes with many different backgrounds, like I said, we're traveling, we're not sitting forever in one place. What I enjoyed the best was the atmosphere that the show provided, basically the whole anime happens in the daytime and traveling by different trains, we get to see beautiful landscapes like bridges, green forests, beaches, train stations, uncharted roads. It may not sound that impressive but this is one of the reasons why I liked it so much, the buddy talk, the friendship, the group bonding, it was something which reminded me of my summer holidays spent with my friends, just going places and having fun. The appeal of it is the comedy, it's not that crazy or explosive, it's more gentle if I could say, sure, we have a robot who pulls weird stuff from his abdomen, a mad scientist who chases after the gang, shooting lasers but we also have funny situations like people forgetting something important, people losing their way in the forest, boys arguing about trivial stuff. I got accustomed to it after 10 minutes or so, the anime is chill and laid back, you don't even need to know all the inside jokes or even the names of the characters, just sit back and have fun. The first "introduction" scene was like that. We are immediately presented all the 9 main characters that will take a train journey, no long introductions, it's just like your first day of high school, you don't know anyone but you still go to a group in order to talk to someone, even try to make friends. The potential viewer should not feel discouraged in watching this, it's true that this only adapts a small fraction of the manga but the story works. too for some reason, he has a quirky, weird and funny personality, but it's fun to watch, who knows what troubles can he create. The tags tell it all, the anime is a SF comedy about a group of high schoolers (boys and girls and a robot) who are in the Photography Club, they have fun like any others their age, the SF element comes from the robot who is named R, he's a high schooler The manga ran from 1985 till 1987, this anime only adapts a mini story arc which happens in the latter part of the manga, courtesy of animation studio Coa. Kyuukyoku Choujin R is a 1991 OVA adapted from the manga with the same name written by Yuuki Masami (the author of Tetsuwan Birdy, Patlabor). ![]()

Female pilot g force training1/22/2024 ![]() KBRwyle at Brooks City-Base in San Antonio, Texas, operates a human centrifuge. The facility trains Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and international students. In the UK High-G training is provided at the High-G Training and Test Facility, RAF Cranwell using an AMST built human centrifuge. Human centrifuges are exceptionally large centrifuges that test the reactions and tolerance of pilots and astronauts to acceleration above those experienced in the Earth's gravity. Human centrifuge training TsF-18 centrifuge at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonauts Training Center ![]() It is designed to prevent a blackout and g-LOC, due to the blood pooling in the lower part of the body when under high- g, thus depriving the brain of blood. G-suits Ī g-suit is worn by aviators and astronauts who are subject to high levels of acceleration and, hence, increasing positive g. In general, when the g-force pushes the body forwards (colloquially known as 'eyeballs in' ) a much higher tolerance is shown than when g-force is pushing the body backwards ('eyeballs out') since blood vessels in the retina appear more sensitive to that direction. This is not true in 0 g when you strafe up that is an eyeballs-down maneuver, which is the same force as a blackout where blood rushes to the feet, and this force is parallel to the spine. The human body is considerably more able to survive g-forces that are perpendicular to the spine. A trained, fit individual wearing a g suit and practising the straining maneuver can, with some difficulty, sustain up to 9 g without loss of consciousness. A hard slap on the face may impose hundreds of g-s locally but may not produce any obvious damage a constant 15 g-s for a minute, however, may be deadly. Roller coasters typically do not expose the occupants to much more than about 3 g. An untrained individual not used to the g-straining maneuver can black out between 4 and 6 g, particularly if this is pulled suddenly. The g thresholds at which these effects occur depend on the training, age and fitness of the individual. ![]() Dreams are reported to follow g-LOC which are brief and vivid. ![]() This is doubly dangerous because, on recovery as g is reduced, a period of several seconds of disorientation occurs, during which the aircraft can dive into the ground. This is because when the body accelerates up at such high rates the blood rushes from the brain which causes loss of vision.Ī further increase in g-forces will cause g-LOC where consciousness is lost. Humans can withstand a positive acceleration forward at higher g-forces than they can withstand a positive acceleration upwards. The human body has different tolerances for g-forces depending on the acceleration direction. ![]() The reverse effect is experienced in advanced aerobatic maneuvers under negative g-forces, where excess blood moves towards the brain and eyes (" redout"). These effects are due to a reduction of blood flow to the eyes before blood flow to the brain is lost, because the extra pressure within the eye ( intraocular pressure) counters the blood pressure. If g-forces increase further, complete loss of vision will occur, while consciousness remains. As g-forces increase, visual effects include loss of colour vision (" greyout"), followed by tunnel vision (where peripheral vision is lost, retaining only the centre vision). ![]()

Hurricane katrina aftermath on people1/22/2024 ![]() ![]() Investigations into the reasons behind the storm’s disproportionately devastating effects on lower-income African American residents reveal the extent of Hurricane Katrina’s social impact. ![]() These trailers were found to contain dangerous amounts of formaldehyde gas, and posed health risks to residents. Many residents were put up in one of FEMA’s 45,000 temporary housing units after the storm, a project that lasted until 2012. A general increase in home values, poverty deconcentration efforts, and the demolition of four prominent public housing projects made it difficult for many of the most affected to find housing in the city. Impacted areas were rapidly gentrified, and much of the city’s growth in the years following Katrina was not a result of original residents returning, but of new people moving in. These numbers are higher among more vulnerable populations.Īs reconstruction began after the storm, many residents were priced out of their neighborhoods. Large percentages of children and adults displaced by Hurricane Katrina experienced mental health issues as a direct result, including PTSD, depression, and anxiety. The majority of those who lost their homes or who were otherwise displaced were African Americans living in the city’s lower-income areas. An estimated 95,000 New Orleans residents lost their jobs in the 10 months following the hurricane, and hundreds of thousands of homes were flooded. Thousands were left homeless, and the population of New Orleans was reduced by half. ![]() history, behind hurricanes Katrina and Harvey.Of the 1.5 million Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama residents that evacuated for Hurricane Katrina, approximately 40% did not return. That makes it the third-costliest hurricane in U.S. Hurricane Maria is estimated to have caused about $90 billion in damage to Puerto Rico. "This total includes both direct and indirect deaths since it was nearly impossible to differentiate between the two types of fatalities for this event," the report read. Authors attributed that number to the island territory’s government, which used a study from George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health to determine the number of deaths. In that original report, the death toll in Puerto Rico was 65, with a caveat that the number was "highly uncertain." The updated report issued Wednesday dramatically increased the number of fatalities in Puerto Rico to 2,975. Hurricane Maria survivor, uncle of FOX Weather's Nicole Valdes, reflects 5 years laterįOX Weather Correspondent Nicole Valdes introduces us to her uncle Rafael Cintron, who reflects on Hurricane Maria five years later. Hurricane Harvey in 2017 comes in second at $148.8 billion. That cements its position as the costliest U.S. Adjusted to 2022 dollars, Katrina caused an estimated $186.3 billion in damage. According to the report, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Centers for Environmental Information estimated Katrina caused $125 billion in damage in 2005 dollars. It ranks third behind the Galveston, Texas, hurricane of 1900 (at least 8,000 fatalities) and the Lake Okeechobee, Florida, hurricane of 1928 (more than 2,500 fatalities).Īnother adjustment to Hurricane Katrina’s official record is the estimated cost of damage caused by the storm. ![]() The adjustment does not change the fact that Katrina is one of the deadliest storms to ever make landfall on the mainland U.S. "Presumably, most of the deaths in Louisiana were caused by the widespread storm surge-induced flooding and its miserable aftermath in the New Orleans area," the report read in part.
